While fast food chains strive to create safe and welcoming environments for their customers, there are some locations that stand out for all the wrong reasons.

Here are seven dangerous fast food locations known for their dangerous circumstances, violence, and brawls.

7. McDonald’s in Detroit, USA

Located on Gratiot Avenue, this McDonald’s in Detroit’s east side has been the scene of numerous violent crimes, including shootings and fights. High crime rates in the surrounding neighborhood have contributed to its reputation as a dangerous spot.

6. Church’s Chicken in Atlanta, USA

In 2019, a Church’s Chicken location in Atlanta made headlines when an argument between an employee and a customer escalated to a shooting, resulting in the tragic death of a restaurant worker.

5. KFC in Yemen

While not dangerous due to crime, this fast-food restaurant in Sana’a, Yemen’s capital, has been in the crosshairs of armed conflict. Bombings in the ongoing Yemeni Civil War have put customers at risk.

4. McDonald’s in Marseille, France

Marseille’s Saint-Barthélemy McDonald’s, located in one of the city’s high-crime northern districts, has been the site of drug-related violence and was almost shut down in 2018. Locals, however, fought to keep it open as it provides many community jobs.

3. Wendy’s in Queens, New York, USA

This location became infamous in 2000 when it was the site of the Wendy’s massacre, one of the most brutal crimes in New York’s history, where five employees were killed during a robbery.

2. Sbarro’s in Jerusalem, Palestine

In 2001, the pizzeria Sbarro was victim to a suicide bombing. Over 16 people were killed, and dozens were wounded. A Hamas terror gang was behind the destruction that left the location devastated. One Israeli woman victim to the blast was in a coma for 22 years as result and just recently passed, yesterday on May 31st.

1. McDonald’s in Ottawa, Canada

Deemed the world’s ‘worst McDonald’s, this location has had over 900 police calls during it’s lifetime due to numerous fights, shootings, and even a fight with a raccoon in the mix. In 2018 there were over 800 calls placed alone. Such a reputation has been cultivated that the location plans to close it’s doors.

These examples serve as reminders of the diverse dangers fast food locations can face, from local crime rates to larger regional conflicts. Fast food chains, like all businesses, must continually work to ensure the safety of their employees and customers.
