According to a statement made by DPRussia, all Domino’s will be closing their locations in Russia after filling for bankruptcy. The total count of Domino’s closing in Russia is 142, and not a one will be spared.

A rash of closings for American-based fast food chains have been flailing inside of Russia ever since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began.

In 2022, McDonalds and Starbucks folded in the same manner, pulling out of Russia more than twelve months ago.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has been instrumental in the downward-spiral of the fast food industry in both countries.

The hostile environment being felt in the form of questionable business practices with the Kremlin reportedly halting the sale of “western-based” businesses in Russia as well as seizing control of businesses’ assets. CNN notes a French yogurt maker called Danone being seized by the Kremlin.

The company that owns Domino’s in Russia, DPRussia announced Monday of the impending closures. Previously, Domino’s had healthy success in Russia as the third largest pizza business in the country. 

DPEurasia also owns Domino’s in Turkey, Azerbajian, and Georgia.

The Russian contingent, DPRussia made a statement on the situation, Monday, saying, “With the increasingly challenging environment, DPRussia’s immediate holding company is now compelled to take this step, which will bring about the termination of attempted sale process of DPRussia as a going concern, and inevitably, the groups presence in Russia. “
