A former Chipotle employee took to TikTok to put the chain on blast, revealing how workers are taught by managers to serve skimpy portions in customer’s orders.

Jennifer goes by the handle jennyg6612 on TikTok, and made a video under the account in which she called out Chipotle for being stingy. She spent two years working at the fast casual restaurant, and during that time she learned a few dirty little secrets.

In the video, she says: “If you feel like they’re skimping you, it’s because they are and they’re doing it on purpose. I used to work there for two years and the managers literally tell you to skimp people and to give them as little as possible.”

She goes onto reveal how the workers are instructed to see what they can get away with portion-wise when preparing a customers order. If the customer isn’t vigilant, they can be served food with a fraction of the amount of ingredients expected. And if the customer doesn’t notice, it’s counted as a win for the chain as they end up using less product, and hence, spending less money.

Not only that but workers stand to face repercussions if they don’t follow the stingy protocol.

Jennifer said that Chipotle’s: “goal is to make the most profit and have the least amount of loss.”

Chipotle recently announced a price hike (which would be the fourth in the last two years) would be going into effect. The chain has been going on a price-raising spree citing inflation, and the new California minimum wage increase. Many vocal customers on social media don’t buy it though, and tend to think the price increases follow a different model…greedflation.
