A young girl’s birthday party was scheduled to be catered by a Dominos located in Queensland, Australia. It turned into a heartbreaking disaster when most of the girl’s peers didn’t show up to celebrate.

An employee of Domino’s named, Miles took it upon himself to cheer the girl up with a special gesture.

Despair must have set in for the child who was at home waiting for friend’s to arrive for her birthday party. But time was passing and no one was showing.

The party was supposed to be in full swing by the time the girl’s mother had to make the call to cancel the large catering order she had previously placed for the expected group of birthday guests.

She had to down-size the order to only one pizza.

Miles was the one that took the call and was horrified when the mother told him the story behind the cancellation of the pizzas.

When Miles hung up the phone, he felt bad that such a scenario was playing out on the girl’s birthday, and he decided to do a kind thing to lift her spirits.

Using ingredients that Domino’s had on hand, Miles created a chocolate cake covered with churros and brownies. Then he wrote a message in chocolate on a pizza box, “Happy B’Day”.

The deed was captured on a Facebook post that went viral as scores of people commented, heart warmed by the employee going the extra mile.

Domino’s wrote on the post: ‘One of Domino’s core values is to be generous and provide joyful experiences, and we are proud of Miles for living our values and going above and beyond to make this customers’ birthday special!’

Scores of comments wrote sentiments praising Mile’s and sympathizing for the child.

Many lauded him for salvaging a somewhat happy ending for the girl’s birthday.

One person said: ‘Can Domino’s get in touch with this customer so we can throw her the best birthday ever? No kid (or their parents) should ever feel that kind of heartbreak!’

The Facebook post has received over 20,000 reactions as of today.
