At a Checkers in Delray Beach, FL – it was a day almost like any other day. Families gathered and partook in the greasy goodness of chili-cheese burgers, hot dogs, and seasoned french fries.
A middle aged woman and her family were enjoying a quiet meal in Checkers outdoor seating area. No sooner had cheeseburger been put to mouth, when a wandering antagonist who was later identified as, Christopher Lehmann…happened upon the peaceable family. No one could imagine that this tranquil, milk shake lovin’ scene would quickly turn on a dime. And turn it did.
Perhaps seeing the happy family enjoying their Checkers angered the interloper, or maybe he was too broke to partake in the fun. Whatever the case may be, Christopher Lehmann was not a happy camper.
According to the police report, Lehmann started his assault ‘innocently’ enough by verbally harassing the seated family while they ate. When the victim asked the man to leave, he approached her and struck her in the face with his closed fist.
He fled and was eventually detained by police officers where he continued his maniacal streak.
Sergeant Leon reported that Lehmann spit in another officer’s face and made threats from inside the police car as she was writing her report:
He stated he “was going to uppercut us and fight us” and “Bash our heads open” when he got up to the county jail and got out of handcuffs (Obtained by: Bocanewsnow.com).
The victim identified Lehmann as her attacker and provided a sworn statement to the responding Officer. He will likely be charged with multiple counts, including; (784.03 1A1) SIMPLE BATTERY and (838.021 3B) CORRUPTION BY THREAT AGAINST PUBLIC OF.
It’s unclear exactly what made this man set his sights on the hapless family outing or if there is, an as yet undiscovered trigger that set him off.
