A sign hanging inside a McDonald’s location alerts it’s staff to a disquieting fact…that they can’t quit. The sign, and sentiment has caused an uproar that caused many to ponder the legalities behind the outrageous sign, and it’s preposterous statement.
The No-Quit sign has been making the rounds from TikTok to Reddit and everywhere in-between. It’s angering everyone who see’s it, and sparking discussion on At-Will employment, and slavery.
If the sign is real, it would likely be at the location of a delusional, rebellious franchisee because no corporation would ever open themselves up to a potential lawsuit like that.

The abrasive, sign in it’s totality reads:
“THIS IS A NO QUIT RESTAURANT”
“Because we feel that many situations can be resolved, it is the policy of the restaurant that an employee cannot quit until he or she talks to Restaurant Manager or Area Supervisor.”
The Reddit r/McDonaldsEmployees were discussing the ridiculous sign, and found no merit in it:
“there’s no such thing as a no quit restaurant. Not legally. if you want to leave a job, you give your required notice and thats it. These signs are just threats.“
“Not “allowing” someone to quit is slavery. I can’t wait for the lawsuit.”
“Soooo this is slavery with extra steps.”
The person who took the picture, and posted it, didn’t give out the location where it’s posted. Suffice to say, whoever had the gall to think up such a policy, let alone try to enforce it…shouldn’t be around people – let alone in a management or supervisor position.
A few weeks ago, a study conducted found McDonald’s to be at the bottom of the ladder in terms of customer satisfaction.. Not surprising, considering one or multiple locations are operating with crazy signs like this one hanging in their establishment. It would surely carry over into how they handle their customers, and that is a fact.
