Mr Beast, the Youtube maven and owner of the MrBeast Burger franchise lays it out – no one was buying the health-based options on his menu so he dialed them back because…in his own words, “No one gave a F***””.
The virtual kitchen, MrBeast Burger – functioned as an app that was introduced in 2020 and had partnered with over three hundred restaurants across the country available for customers to order on demand.
Mr Beast recently celebrated the grand opening of “MrBeast Burgers” (which would be it’s first physical location) this past September, in NJ.
The brick and mortar beast was a rousing success, breaking the record for the highest number of burgers ever sold in one day.
Jimmy Donaldson, AKA Mr. Beast appeared last week on an episode of the podcast, “Flagrant“, and discussed what’s on-and-off the menu at MrBeast Burger.
One of the few healthy options available was the, Lettuce Wrap. It had endured abysmal sales numbers making up less than one percent of the chain’s total revenue – so Donaldson scrapped it and has since stalled focus on further healthy options.
“Oh no It wasn’t 20%, it was like literally less than one percent of our sales rate. No one gave a f**k…So, that is the problem. If you go too healthy, then just not a person on the planet f**king buys it.”
He spoke of his theory on “extremes”. If the menu offers food options that are too healthy…no one wants them, and no one buys them.
Donaldson said that he wants to focus instead on food that has “super” high quality ingredients but in fewer quantities, that “perfect middle-ground” between health and tastiness.
Which is exactly the process he will be implementing in yet another venture of Donaldson’s called, “Feastables”. His new brand of chocolate that pares down the number of processed ingredients and only uses a handful of quality ones.
As Donaldson has run the numbers on health food options, and determined that healthy food doesn’t sell, he will not be adding anymore of these items to the chain’s menu. Ultimately, “Nobody cares” about healthy choices…at least at MrBeast Burger.
