Rapper Pusha-T will be performing August 19th in Washington D.C at a Pepsi-sponsored block party called the Pepsi Dig In Day.

Pepsi Dig In Day is the first of its kind to celebrate National Black Business month. It’s scheduled to have 50 acts slated to perform and the best part? There will be multiple restaurants offering free food to attendants, including:

  • Roaming Rooster
  • Money Muscle BBQ
  • Slim & Husky’s
  • Shuck Shack

There’s also a $5000 prize that Pepsi is awarding to the winner of the best Black-owned restaurant’s meal picture posted to social media.

Pusha-T said about the event: “I feel like Pepsi Dig In Day speaks to bringing the community together for music and the celebration of black-owned businesses in the DMV area. The DMV has so many different places and black-owned businesses to highlight in the restaurant space. It’s just a good time. It’s a good time for everybody.”

“Our goal for Pepsi Dig In has always been to celebrate and generate awareness for Black-owned restaurants, not just on Pepsi Dig In Day, but all year long,” said Scott Finlow, Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Global Foodservice in a press release.

Pusha-T has collaborated with fast food brands in the past like for last years partnership with Arby’s.

Pusha-T wrote a McDonald’s diss track for the chain that “has the meats”, and filmed an accompanying music video that parodied Ronald McDonald as a good for nothing clown.

The press release continued, “This year, we’re turning up the flavor and excitement with the support of renowned partners like the James Beard Foundation and events like our Washington D.C. block party where people can indulge in delicious food, cheer on talented chefs, and soak up the vibrant culture that accompanies every dish.”

Additional performers include: Alex Vaughn, Black Alley, DJ Five9, and DJ Money.
