Sonic Drive-In is revving its engines and entering the fast-food value lane in a big way. The popular chain recently launched its FUN.99 Menu, offering a selection of craveable items for just $1.99 each, permanently. This move positions Sonic as a contender in the ongoing battle for customers.
For years, fast food chains have relied heavily on limited-time value deals to attract customers, and now Sonic’s $1.99 menu stands out by being a permanent fixture. This commitment to affordability gives customers a reliable and budget-friendly option, potentially stealing a slice of the pie from competitors like McDonald’s and Burger King.
The FUN.99 Menu boasts a variety of options to satisfy different cravings. Customers can choose from a juicy Quarter-Pound Double Cheeseburger, a classic Chili Cheese Coney hot dog, a satisfying portion of Small Tots, or indulge in a refreshing 16-ounce Sonic Shake in a variety of flavors. This diverse selection ensures there’s something for everyone at the iconic drive-in.
The $1.99 Menu includes a brand new item, Queso Wraps which comes in two varieties, the Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap, and the Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap.
The entire $1.99 Menu:
- Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger
- Chili Cheese Coney
- Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap
- Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap
- Small Tots
- Any one of the 12 flavors of SONIC Shakes in a 16-ounce size, including Strawberry, Chocolate and OREO Cheesecake.
Ryan Dickerson, Chief Marketing Officer of SONIC said on the new value menu: “Now more than ever, guests are focused on affordable food options, but they shouldn’t have to settle for the same old, tired discounts or boring meals. Many restaurant brands are touting a lot of recycled ideas with limited options. At SONIC, we wanted to do something different – something fun – so we focused on variety, which is why we’re introducing the new $1.99 Menu, or what we like to call the FUN.99 Menu.”
Sonic’s strategic timing is also noteworthy. With inflation putting a strain on wallets, consumers are increasingly seeking value when dining out. The $1.99 menu offers a welcome respite from rising menu prices, potentially attracting new customers and retaining existing ones who might be tempted to cut back on fast food spending.
The launch of the FUN.99 Menu is a bold move by Sonic Drive-In. By offering permanent value and a distinct dining experience, Sonic positions itself to win over budget-conscious customers and potentially become a go-to option for those seeking a quick and affordable meal. Can Sonic dethrone the reigning fast-food giants? The $1.99 Menu is a good way for Sonic to make a big splash in the value meal arena.
