Taco Bell is facing scrutiny after unveiling the new Under $3 Cravings Value Menu, and subsequently placing a few customer favorites on the chopping block to make room for new blood.
The updated 10-item strong “under $3 Cravings Value Menu” added a few new items such as the Cheesy Enchilada Burrito, and the 3-Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt while removing several longstanding staples from the menu entirely.
The chain didn’t note the items absence nor did they say if the items leaving the Value Menu woul remain on the non-value menu portion of their offerings. Perhaps it was a roundabout way to up the prices on these favorites? One can only guess at this point…
Discontinued Value Menu Items
- Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito
- the Fiesta Veggie Burrito
- Beefy Melt Burrito
- Chicken Chipotle Melt
- the $5 Classic Combo.
The complete “updated” Value Menu has the following items…
Under $3 Cravings Value Menu
- Cheesy Double Beef Burrito – $2.49
- Double Stacked Taco -$1.79
- Spicy Potato Soft Taco – $1
- Cheesy Roll Up – $1
- Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito – $1
- 3-Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt – $1.99
- Chicken Enchilada Burrito – $2.29
- Loaded Beef Nachos – $2.79
- Stacker – $1
- Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes – $2.29
Whatever the case may be, fans of these replaced staples…are not happy, and their voicing their discontent on various social media outlets. One user referencing the Chipotle Ranch Grilled Chicken Burrito said: “these were the only reason why I had been going to Taco Bell!”
The loss of all of these items is a pretty big blow for a lot of people that had become accustomed to eating their favorites on a budget but maybe all or even some of these items will quietly make their return at a later date.
Taco Bell also added the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada last week to the regular menu after a period of testing last spring in Tennessee. On the plus side – in lieu of disappearing “favorites”, new items are being added, on the daily!.
