A few months ago, a partnership was brewing between Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s. It was announced that the plan was to start offering an assortment of Krispy Kreme donuts at McDonald’s test markets in Kentucky.
The nine test locations have now experienced a successful run and the partnership is expanding it’s scope of testing. They will still be focusing on locations in Kentucky but will additionally be offering Krispy Kreme donuts at 160 more restaurants in the same state. (Courtesy of: MSNBC)
They will also be expanding upon the variety of donuts that are available on the menu. Previously, raspberry creme and glazed Krispy Kreme’s were the only kinds of donuts on McDonald’s menu.
Now the raspberry creme is out.
The newest additions to the menu include: chocolate iced with sprinkles, glazed, and chocolate cream-filled donuts.
Also new to the partnership is the ability to order Krispy Kreme donuts from McDonald’s via delivery apps. Previously they were only available for purchase when ordering through the drive-thru and inside the restaurant.
Hopefully with almost 200 more locations added in Kentucky that will be offering Krispy Kreme’s – the word will get out and create such a need for the donuts that there will no longer be ‘testing’ necessary and a nationwide roll-out of Krispy Kreme’s will find their way onto the menu as a main-stay.
