Arby’s has listened…kind of, to the outcry of it’s customers after they took their Potato Cakes off the menu. They’re bringing them back but the real kicker is that they’re only returning to Arby’s Canada at this time.
The move is sure to look like the chain is pouring salt in the wounds of it’s vocal US fans who have been demanding they bring back the Potato Cakes for a few years now.
Potato Cakes were taken off the menu in 2021 generating instant backlash from fans of the triangular, fried potato side item. They were allegedly removed from the menu so that another potato-centric item, Crinkle Cut Fries could take their stead.
Dedicated fans of the potato dish take to social media everyday to ask for the item to come back. There’s even petitions thrown up to see that objective achieved.
Now they are being broughr back…to Canada for a limited time according to an Arby’s press release.
Vito Curalli, spokesperson for Arby’s Canada, said in that release:
“Being in quick service industry for so long, I’ve never seen value, and unique limited time offerings like this before – all at one time. We are definitely proud to be able to provide Canadians with unique flavours and the return of fan favourites.”
Arby’s recently brought the Brisket Bacon Beef N’ Cheddar, and the Fish Sandwich to the menu for a limited time as well. The Fish Sandwich is another cherished favorite. Perhaps US customers will be seeing the Potato Cakes in the near future?
