Burger King customers are voicing their concerns over the chain’s rising prices after finding the latest price of a Whopper at the drive-thru.

In fact, there have been numerous complaints over the past month on Reddit from customers sounding off on the price increase.

One loyal customer of over 23 years, took to Reddit after a recent trip to Burger King had the poster angered with rising prices when ordering a small double cheeseburger meal.

TraditionalLecture10 was informed by an employee at the window, that a “huge price increase” had just gone into effect.

Inflation has been the accused culprit behind mass fast food price increases but have the number of times that prices have risen…been warranted?

One commenter pointed out that:

“Burger King’s same-store sales rose 10.2%, beating estimates of 5.3%. In the United States, where the company is trying to reinvigorate the brand, the burger chain’s same-store sales increased 8.3%.

Others noted that locations near them were feeling the price increase as well.

“It’s already happening out here. McDonald’s is always packed while Burger King’s parking lot and drive thru barely have any cars.”

“Remember when You were able to get a whole whopper meal through the app for $5 !! Now it’s around $7 almost $8.”

“And all their customers are heading to Wendy’s , just down the street.”

As the angry customer noted, many locations have been closed, and some abandoned to local townships dismay.

With over 400 locations estimated to close in 2023 according to Burger King’s CEO, and the chains biggest franchisee folding, declaring bankruptcy, it just might seem that things aren’t on the up-and-up. Only time will tell if the chain can push through the price increase fall-out, and claw it’s way back to the top with the $400 million plan to reinvigorate the brand.

The customer of 23 years summed up the issues nicely in a comment on their Reddit post:

“But they raised their prices much higher ,as far as rate, then anyone else . And the food quality declined significantly , plus the burgers shrank . It’s no longer any kind of value . It’s just overpriced crappy food , this will end up being the nail in the coffin . They are already closing , hundreds of stores . They have competitors all around them , they are always busy , burger king ,at least here , is usually empty. “
