In Summer 2023, Chick-Fil-A quietly started testing a new chicken sandwich: the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich. This intriguing offering takes a bit of a turn for the unexpected, featuring grilled chicken nestled between sweet maple-flavored brioche buns.
This limited test run took place in 2023 at select Chick-fil-A locations in Indianapolis and Lexington, Kentucky. The Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich wasn’t a nationwide release at that point obviously but it gathered some buzz around the same time the chain actually did release a new chicken sandwich for the first time in 10 years. The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich which saw a successful nationwide launch last year.
And now it’s the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwiches turn to make its nationwide debut which should be just in time for the chain’s upcoming Summer Menu release on June 10th.
What is the Maple Pepper Bacon Sandwich?
The sandwich starts with grilled chicken filet, marinated in lemon herb for a juicy and smoky flavor, and is balanced by the spicy addition of pepper jack cheese. Crisp lettuce, savory bacon with a brown sugar and pepper rub, and sweet and spicy pickles add layers of texture and taste. The maple-flavored brioche bun make the perfect sweet component to match the savory elements.
And that’s not all, Chick-Fil-A is testing yet another sandwich exclusively in the Raleigh, NC market. This one is still in the testing phase and features a pretzel bun, called the Pretzel Cheddar Club Sandwich. The prospective sandwich features a creamy Dijon mustard, strips of Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a seasoned chicken breast.
Another item coming for the Summer Menu is the returning Peach Milkshake which combines ice cream, peaches, whipped cream, and a cherry. The shake was first introduced in 2009 and made it’s return in 2018 and each subsequent year.
