Dunkin Donuts just added a new item to their breakfast menu. The Breakfast Tacos are a savory new addition with a price point of only $3 and available all day as a hand-held snack for when you’re on-the-go.
This would mark the first time that the franchise has offered tacos on their menu in any fashion. Dunkin’s furthest venture away from donuts and coffee has been the usual bagel and breakfast sandwich fare.
The Breakfast Tacos consists of a flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, sharp white cheddar cheese, corn and a creamy lime crema to top it off. Crumbled bacon is available as an add-on if you’re looking for a meat element to hit the spot.
Jill McVicar Nelson, Dunkin’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement, “Our culinary team has expertly crafted these breakfast tacos with the vibrancy of spring in mind, delivering a taste sensation that can be enjoyed any time of the day — not just for breakfast.”
One person on Twitter already tried the Breakfast Tacos and wasn’t exactly impressed, noting that the tacos are as “thin as a pencil.”
The tacos are welcoming in the Spring season but there’s no word on how long they will be staying for.
It looks like the lime crema sauce is what sets these apart from the rest of the bunch and judging from the pictures – if they were just a bit more hefty, might give other fast food restaurants a run for their money.
