The stars aligned for this Popeye’s customer who was trying to order some chicken at a short-staffed Popeyes. In a video obtained by dextero.com that has most-assuredly gone viral, her friend chronicled the exchange which ended up with the customer placing an order for a job instead.
It was 10am and Tiktok user @thoroughbred_84, and her friend were trying to get something to eat at Popeyes.
At the intercom you can hear the worker explain that they “can’t open until 11am” because they were short-staffed…even though “the website says they open at 10am”.
Text overlay to the video reads, “She at it again. All behind some damn chicken“.
The friend, (who is walking around outside in the drive-thru for reasons that are unexplained) replies through the speaker “Can I have a job then? Cause I’m hungry. I’m on the website and I’m trying to do a job application but it won’t let me do it. It’s saying…uh, server error“.
The employee tells the woman to come around to the window and the job prospector asks if she’s going to interview her now. The worker replies matter-of-factly, “Yup”.
The Tiktok replies were lighting up, impressed by the woman’s go-getter attitude. Many commented that she recognized the problem at Popeye’s, and combined her problem of being hungry – with a quick solution.

A follow-up video was posted after the first one went viral because everyone was demanding to know if she got the job. It confirms that she did and that she starts work “Monday at 8am”.
