The popular grocery delivery platform Instacart revealed a list of the Top 10 most popular Halloween candy using data collected from the platform during last years season.
In a post on Instacart’s blog, the most popular Halloween candy was listed. The results were determined by “calculating the total weight of each type of candy sold on its platform in October 2022.”
Top 10 Halloween Candy in the US
- 1. Reese Peanut Butter Cups
- 2. Peanut M&Ms
- 3. M&Ms
- 4. Tootsie Pops
- 5. Twizzlers
- 6. Hershey’s Milk Chocolate
- 7. Sour Patch Kids
- 8. Candy Corn
- 9. Kit Kats
- 10. Starburst
Instacart’s trends expert, Laurentia Romaniuk said on the results:
“Comparing this list of the top 10 Halloween candies to last year reveals some exciting changes. We’ve got three newcomers: Tootsie Pops, Sour Patch Kids, and Candy Corn — two classics and a candy with a modern sour twist, which tells us there’s a delectable blend of nostalgia and contemporary flavors showing up in candy bowls.”
It’s a somewhat surprising mix of chocolate and non-chocolate candies that made the cut. And surprising that Tootsie Pops and Candy Corn made the cut over popular favorites like Snickers, or Milky Ways. Or hello, Butterfingers?
Outside of the Top 10 list, they also calculated the most popular candy by state. Here are a few notable mentions:
