Jack in the Box is introducing a new twist on a fan favorite. The Buttery Jack, known for its toasted brioche bun, is now getting an upgrade with a juicy, smashed-style beef patty.
This isn’t just a minor tweak. Smashed burgers have become a hot trend, praised for their crispy, caramelized edges and intense beef flavor. Jack in the Box is joining the party with the Smashed Jack, a permanent menu addition available in classic and Bacon Double variations.
The Smashed Jack boasts a quarter-pound, seasoned beef patty cooked in the smash-style method. This involves pressing the patty on a hot griddle, creating a thinner patty with a wider surface area for maximum browning. The result? A burger that offers the best of both worlds: a satisfyingly thick center and those coveted crispy edges.
Jack in the Box emphasizes that their version of the smash technique prioritizes flavor without sacrificing substance. Unlike some fast-food smash burgers, the Smashed Jack reportedly maintains a hearty patty size while achieving the signature smash-cooked texture.
The Smashed Jack comes dressed with the classics: melty cheese, grilled onions, tangy pickles, and their signature “Boss Sauce” all nestled in that toasted brioche bun.
Sonic Drive-In also just announced their own addition of a smash burger to the menu. It will be available starting July 29th for a limited-time only.
So if you’re a longtime Buttery Jack fan, check out their version of the trending smashburger, early reviews are positive saying the Smashed Jack is definitely worth a try.
