Police in Florida reported an odd case of reckless driving that occurred when a driver blew past an officer’s vehicle in a no passing zone, clocking in at over 100 mph in a 40 mph zone. The reason for the reckless driving behavior? His girlfriend’s job interview at Taco Bell.
The reckless driver, Javon Pierre Jackson (22) had three children in the backseat of a Mercedes at the time of the incident and narrowly avoided hitting a dump truck while driving (or speeding) with a suspended license.
According to the arrest affidavit, the dump truck was forced off the road and into the shoulder to avoid a head on collision along with another car and the Lieutenant himself when Jackson was tearing through the street.
After being pulled over, Jackson got out of the Mercedes and immediately approached the officer to tell him that his girlfriend had a job interview at Taco Bell.

Commenters on the New York Post website were baffled over the need to speed to the Taco Bell interview.
Inspector Frank Luger 12th Precinct:
That moment, just when you think you’ve seen it all. It turns out you have only seen 13% of it.
RJ Suitor:
The question begs did the girlfriend land the Taco Bell career gig? Asking for a friend inquiring minds need to know.
Mark Gonzalez:
I may need to get a job at Taco Bell . They have a Mercedes ? Taco Bell must be paying real good these days
The most pressing question seemed to be – did the girlfriend get the job? There’s so far no update on the status of the job interview.
Jackson was taken to the Brevard County jail and is facing multiple charges, including reckless driving and child neglect. His court date is scheduled for April 18th.
