KFC U.S. is gearing up for a significant “brand transformation” this year, aiming to boost both sales and customer transactions. The initiative is being spearheaded by a newly assembled top leadership team, including key appointments in marketing, development, finance, and operations.

KFC will be expanding its “super app” so employees can have more tools to better the guest experience. They’re also going deeper down the AI rabbit hole, and now have over 1,000 self-serve kiosks nationwide.

The new Saucy concept is being enacted in the Orlando, FL market with plans to expand into Dallas, TX this February.

New KFC president, Tarun Lal said on Saucy: “The test to simplify and modernize our restaurants has shown positive results. (Saucy) is best-in-class conceptability and I have tremendous confidence in it. I’m very optimistic about 2025 and beyond. The macroenvironment is improving – inflation is going down and cost pressures for consumers are going down. And I’m very bullish about our transformation plan kicking in and the foundation we have put into place.”

Key Focus Areas:

  • Enhanced Customer Experience: KFC is prioritizing a more seamless and enjoyable customer journey, leveraging technology to streamline digital ordering and in-store experiences.
  • Menu Innovation: Expect to see exciting new menu items and limited-time offers, building on the brand’s iconic fried chicken while exploring innovative flavor profiles and product categories.
  • Strengthening Brand Identity: The transformation will aim to reinforce KFC’s unique brand personality, tapping into nostalgia while appealing to modern consumer preferences.
  • Operational Excellence: A focus on operational efficiency and employee satisfaction will be crucial to supporting the brand’s growth objectives.

Leveraging Technology:

KFC is leveraging Yum! Brands’ advanced technology platforms, including AI-powered marketing campaigns, an inventory management system, and consumer data insights, to personalize the customer experience and optimize operations.6

Industry Outlook:

This ambitious transformation comes as the fast-food industry faces increased competition and evolving consumer demands. By focusing on innovation, customer experience, and operational excellence, KFC aims to solidify its position as a leading quick-service restaurant brand in the US.
