McDonald’s is whipping up a brand new McFlurry flavor that may stir up warm memories for more than a few customers. As of May 21st, they’re introducing the aptly named “Grandma McFlurry,” a delightful concoction inspired by the treats grandmas are known for.

Last week, McDonald’s teased the name and dropped pictures of the Grandma McFlurry but they didn’t reveal the flavor. After days of customers theorizing, the chain has finally unveiled the details on the new dessert.

This limited-edition McFlurry blends everyone’s favorite vanilla soft serve with a decadent twist based off everyone’s favorite grandma treat. The ubiquitous butterscotch hard candies that always had a place in grandmas purse or candy dish is the star of this show and the new McFlurry features a rich butterscotch syrup and crunchy butterscotch candy pieces blended into soft-serve vanilla ice cream.

McDonald’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, Tariq Hassan, in a recent press release: “The Grandma McFlurry is sweet – just like grandma. Grandmas hold a special place in our hearts, and this McFlurry is a way to celebrate them and the special memories they create.”

The Grandma McFlurry isn’t just a delicious dessert; it’s a sentimental journey. It’s the perfect treat to share with your grandma or that special grandma-figure in your life.

Also on McDonald’s roster is the coming controversial $5 Value Meal which goes live on June 25th. It comes with a choice of a McDouble or McChicken, a 4-pc McNugget, small fries and a drink. It aims to bring back lower income customers, but only for about a month…which is the controversial part that’s making fans angry.

For now, if you head down to your local McDonald’s and grab a Grandma McFlurry, let us know what you think. This is a limited-time offer, with an emphasis on pure nostalgia packaged as a new flavor.
