Chicago, IL – McDonald’s is proving that its recent $5 value meal is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to offering customers unbeatable deals. Sources close to the fast-food giant suggest that the company is actively exploring the possibility of resurrecting its beloved dollar, two dollar, and three dollar menu.

McDonald’s CEO, Chris Kempczinski discussed the plan to bring more value back with CNBC’s Squawk Box: “I would consider the $5 menu sort of chapter one of a multi-chapter value playbook that we’re going to be writing,” he said.

The $5 meal, which includes a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets, small fries, and a small drink, has been a resounding success, drawing in customers eager for affordable options. Building on this momentum, McDonald’s is now eyeing a return to the ultra-low price points that once made it a household name.  

The $5 deal is “a bridge value program … what we’ll be doing is putting in place a more permanent value program, much like we had previously,” he said, referring to McDonald’s’ $1, $2, $3 menu.”

The dollar menu was a staple at McDonald’s for years, offering customers a wide range of affordable options. While it was eventually phased out, many customers have expressed nostalgia, and even anger for the days of the $1 Menu and it’s disappearance. A return to this format could not only attract budget-conscious consumers but also reignite excitement around the brand.

As the fast-food industry continues to grapple with rising costs and economic uncertainty, McDonald’s is positioning itself as a leader in value. The potential return of a dollar, two dollar, and three dollar menu would undoubtedly shake up the competition and solidify the Golden Arches’ place as a go-to destination for affordable meals.
