Laz Nina @the1andonlynina brought her dinner experience at Texas Roadhouse to social media…specifically, TikTok to lambast the eatery for serving her Kraft Macaroni and Cheese when she expected a better quality dish.
When Nina ordered her meal at the restaurant, she was in the mood for some good ol’ southern comfort food.
What better side to fit that bill than macaroni and cheese?
A staple of the South with its ooey gooey cheese typically baked to perfection with a golden crust of buttered breadcrumbs.
Imagine her dismay when the plate came sidling out only to laugh in her face with limp sickly looking noodles gathered piteously. It was like they were mocking her mac and cheese expectations.
It’s like expecting a limo for that important day and a beater shows up with the front and back bumper taped to hell and back again so as not to fly off mid journey.
The disappointment was too much. She immediately took video of the offending side dish and highlighted it against the back drop of the rest of her meal.
“Tell me why I came to Texas roadhouse and you know how the prices are, I decided to get a side of mac and cheese,” she starts in the clip. “And tell me why, why is that Kraft macaroni and cheese? Don’t play with me, Texas Roadhouse you gotta do better.” “
With the menu boasting about handcrafted dishes then turning around and serving up $1 boxed mac and cheese, they’re effectively catfishing patrons who are expecting quality.
Viewers pointed out that it’s usually the kid’s meals that get the Kraft treatment. Which is one thing in itself but kid’s aren’t usually privy to a higher caliber of mac and cheese nor do they really care…they’re out for the chicken fingers.
“i’m a server there and i always let my tables know this!! some locations do have homemade mac and cheese tho”
Others shared her shock at the boxed pasta being passed off as one of the restaurants handcrafted dish:
“Logan’s gives you amazing mac n cheese, and TX RH gives you Kraft, a lesson I learned and will not have to learn again. Logans FTW
“THEY DID NOTTTTTTTT NEVER IN MY LIFE BROOO.”
Roadhouse could have at least sprung for the “deluxe” version of Kraft to appease anyone with a more refined palette and over age eight.
If you think a steakhouse should offer better quality fare in terms of a traditional baked macaroni and cheese…maybe the restaurant will take notice now that Nina’s video went viral with over 70K views and 3,000 likes.
