Photos of rapper, Pop Smoke’s alleged shooter have been making the rounds on social media posted earlier. People were astounded that the gunman behind Pop Smoke’s death is enjoying what would appear to be copious amounts of PIzza Hut while serving time.
The pictures were posted to social media by Akademiks, a popular Youtuber and media personality according to hiphopdx.com.
The first picture shows the juvenile in his jail cell with a Pizza Hut box on the bed while another shows a smorgasbord of yet to be eaten Pizza Hut displayed in the background while he’s looking at a phone.
Commenters on Instagram wrote:
“And bro got a puff in his hand, this is an average American thursday night, not jail.”
“Bro killed a man over a chain. Death penalty.”
“And He got the audacity to have all them damn toppings gang.”
The juvenile (who was fifteen at the time) along with three other males engaged in the robbery and home invasion that took the rapper, Pop Smoke’s life in 2020.
The foursome had seen a post that Pop Smoke had posted on Instagram showing a stack of cash, his gold chain, and a Rolex.
One of the pictures on social media had a gift label in the background with his address on it. From the post, they were able to ascertain the location of the Airbnb that Pop Smoke was staying in.
The four men were allegedly after taking Pop Smoke’s Rolex as their main priority and his jewelry and cash secondarily.
The juvenile confessed (in a recording taken by a cellmate) to his role in the death of Pope Smoke.
“He admitted that he shot the victim three times with a Baretta 9 (mm.),” LAPD Detective Carlos Camacho testified at preliminary hearings.
“They got into a fight, and he shot him three times,” Camacho said. “He said he shot him on the back“.
It’s not known how Akademics obtained the pictures showing the alleged killer in his cell with the Pizza Hut aplenty. Or if somehow the juvenile himself was flexing and had sent it to someone who passed it on.
The post on Instagram was a mad flurry of commenters aghast that the juvenile does not seem to be appropriately serving time for his alleged crimes, what with the PIzza Hut, access to a phone and a ‘cart’.
It seems as if he has just about as much creature comforts as someone on the ‘outside’.
A trial is set to begin October 13th for the oldest suspect involved in the shooting. There is no update on the alleged shooter’s status.
