Taco Bell, the fast-food chain known for its craveable Mexican-inspired fare, is shaking things up, but this time with an absolute curve ball: senior citizens. They’ve announced plans for “Live Más Living,” a unique retirement community designed for those who want to spice up their golden years.
It’s called The Cantina, and it won’t be your average retirement home. The two-day experience is being billed as an “early retirement community.
Who is it for? Taco Bell Rewards Members over 21, essentially anyone obsessed with Taco Bell to connect with a variety of she groups.
Sure, it will offer the expected amenities – comfortable living spaces, delicious meals, and engaging activities – but with a distinctly Taco Bell twist. Imagine swimming pools shaped like giant Baja Blasts, shuffleboard courts with Doritos for markers, and afternoon socials featuring Crunchwrap Supreme sliders.
Taylor Montgomery, U.S. chief marketing officer of Taco Bell, said in a statement:
“There’s a common misconception that retirement unlocks the life you’ve been waiting for. And while that may be true for some, we don’t think you should have to wait until 55 to live the life you’re craving. The Cantinas early retirement community, just like our brand, represents a place where all generations can come together, regardless of age, to Live their Más however they want.”
The communities will prioritize health and wellness. Taco Bell promises fresh, high-quality ingredients in their meals, with vegetarian and diabetic-friendly options aplenty. Fitness classes will incorporate modified Zumba routines inspired by Fiesta Fridays, aerobics, pickleball and gentle yoga sessions with the soothing sounds of sizzling fajitas.
The Cantina isn’t just about food and activities. It’s about fostering a sense of community. Residents can connect over friendly games of nacho-themed bingo or share stories during Taco ’bout Tuesdays. There will even be a dedicated “Fire Sauce Corner” for lively debates on the merits of adding a spicy kick to everything.
Weekend memberships include overnight accommodations and cost $150 while day passes cost $50.
Some details are still under wraps, and Taco Bell hints at additional surprises, like a putting green shaped like a hot sauce bottle and guest appearances by Taco Bell mascots.
If you’re a lifelong nacho cheese aficionado The Cantina looks to be the perfect way to spend your golden years…or your weekend.
