Kansas City Chiefs tight end, and beau to Taylor Swift; Travis Kelce, revealed that he spent Thanksgiving without family, and that his meal was nontraditionally a KFC feast.
During an episode of Kelce’s podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, he commented on his Thanksgiving plans or lack thereof, saying that he would “be feasting on KFC because I won’t have anybody here“. With Swift on her merry way, touring, and spending the Holiday elsewhere, Kelce’s family was also out of state leaving him to his own devices.
That’s where the fast food chain, KFC came in, and of course the chain was delighted by the publicity.
KFC’s CMO, Nick Chavez, told PEOPLE in a statement:
“We have options for anyone in their KFC era this holiday season and beyond. Chiefly, we recommend our finger lickin’ good 2 for $5 KFC Wraps for any solo celebrations …on or off the field.”
Photo proof was posted on X/Twitter of KFC packaging sitting on Kelce’s stove with the caption:
“TK Thanksgiving order”. The Thanksgiving feast consisted of: 56 Pieces of KFC fried chicken, 80 hot & spicy wings, three catering-sized mashed potatoes and gravy, two mac and cheese orders, and two orders of corn.
Kelce spent Thanksgiving with friends, including Aric Jones, and the crew didn’t miss the traditional Thanksgiving dinner one iota…reportedly.
KFC Canada came out with a Festive Chicken Sandwich for the season which includes the ingredients of a Thanksgiving feast packed onto a bun. It provides every “festive” element in sandwich form, somewhat reminiscent of Wawa’s Gobbler. The sandwich will be available only in Canada for the duration of the Holiday season.
