Would you believe that two black bears, a mother bear and her cub were caught in the act of a Krispy Kreme donut heist that took place inside of a parked Krispy Kreme van on an AFB.

That’s exactly what happened in this overload of cute that took place in Anchorage Alaska on a military base.

The driver had stopped his Krispy Kreme delivery van at the convenience store on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson JMM Express while on his route. That was precisely when the two bears that were loitering nearby made their move.

Footage shows the two bears working against the clock as fast as they could, going nuts for the donuts as they pawed their way through the packages to get to the goods. They ate them on the spot.

Store Manager, Shelly Deano described the scene:

“I was beating on the van and they’re not moving. I could hear them breaking open the packages and everything. I was like, ‘They don’t even care.”

Security eventually came out to try and scare the bears away using sirens meant to make them to retreat.

The bears took their time and came out when they were good and ready, leaving at their own pace. They wandered back into the woods, bellies full, top-notch foraging accomplished.

Krispy Kreme Alaska shared the story, and pictures to their Facebook page, “”One of our brave delivery drivers managed to capture this incredible moment on camera,” read last week’s post. “It’s a reminder that our donuts are loved by everyone, even the wildlife!”

The final count of donuts consumed by the pair was about 26 packages of donuts, at least one hundred donuts…if not more.

Deano continued: “They ate 20 packages of the doughnut holes and I believe six packages of the three-pack chocolate doughnuts.”

Last year, a sugar-lovin’ bee soiree was discovered in full-swing inside of a 20-yard garbage dumpster that was piled high with unopened Krispy Kreme donuts in their packages. There’s something about those Krispy Kreme’s that keeps humans, animals, and insects…coming back for more.
