June 2nd, or National Donut Day will be honored by Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts in the most perfect way. Both chains will be giving away one free donut to mark the day.
National Donut Day is always on the first Friday in June ever since it’s inception in 1938. It was started by the Salvation Army as a way to honor a group of women called the Salvation Army Lassies who brought donuts to soldiers during WW1 – a much needed respite, no doubt.
Dunkin Free Donuts
In order to redeem your free donut, you must be a Dunkin’ Rewards member and purchase a drink. Any donut is up for grabs as long as it isn’t a limited edition or a “special” donut.
Krispy Kreme Free Donuts
Krispy is offering a free donut with no purchase necessary, and it applies to any kind of donut your heart may desire. You can either go inside or through the drive-thru for your free bundle of goodness.
There’s also a $2 BOGO deal being offered June 2nd. If you buy one dozen donuts, you can get a second dozen for only $2.
Set an alarm on your phone if you have to – not everyday comes with the option of a free donut or two.
