Wendy’s has added a new breakfast item to the menu in a move that aims to take on the already established McDonald’s morning favorite…the McMuffin.
On August 22nd, Wendy’s will add a breakfast sandwich crafted around the English Muffin to menu’s nationwide. It can be ordered with either egg, and bacon or egg and sausage. It will have a note of honey in the English muffin itself, and a buttery spread.
The VP of Wendy’s culinary innovation, John Li said in a press release: “We tested 60 variations of our English Muffin Sandwiches before we landed on these light and fluffy English muffins made with a touch of honey and topped with a savory buttery spread, fresh cracked eggs and delicious bacon or sausage for the perfect harmony of breakfast flavors.”
Wendy’s has been focusing on a late night menu in recent times, along with pumping up their breakfast game in order to take a bigger slice of each market.

- Sausage Egg and Swiss Croissant
- Bacon Egg and Swiss Croissant
- Classic Sausage Egg and cheese Sandwich
- Classic Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich
- New – Sausage or Bacon Egg and Cheese McMuffin
