For lovers of both Burger King and Doritos, a compelling collision between the two brands may be resulting in brand-new Whopper flavored Doritos called, Burger King Flame Grilled Whopper.
The supposed partnership is reported by Delish and only relevant for UK consumers at this time.
Apparently the news had been stumbled upon by the Instagram account: @treatsinstore. A page dedicated to a smorgasbord of snacks from “around the globe”.
Is this top secret info or merely a tasty rumor? The linked story in Delish’s article looks to have been removed and is no longer viewable.
A few other sites have picked up on the story but most have the same scant details.
Further investigation leads to a post on Facebook under the hash tag “newsnack” that highlights the aforementioned Instagram post:
Snackolator: Burger King Doritos are coming to the UK!!! I thought these were fake, but they really are bringing Flame Grilled Whopper Doritos to the UK and I am so curious how these could taste. Big credit to @treatsinstore for breaking this news. Would you like to see these in the states? Do you think the flavor would work? I would absolutely try them… but I’m also an idiot.
For people living in the UK this new Whopper flavored tortilla chip could be available towards the end of February…if the intel proves to be legit.
There’s no word on if the new flavor of Doritos could be released in the US or other countries as well but the excitement for the Whopper tortilla based chips is clearly there.
