To celebrate Fire Prevention Week and the NFPA organization’s 100th anniversary, Domino’s will be partnering up with The National Fire Protection Association (courtesy of: prnewswire.com).
If your local Domino’s is one of the participating locations – you might get a pizza delivered on the house, via fire truck.
But only if your smoke detectors are working.
From October 9th to the 15th, the new campaign brought by Domino’s and the non-profit organization, NFPA “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape™” will be roaring across the nation at select locations delivering, fire safety messages, flyers, and pizza.
Customers that order their pizza from Domino’s could have one heck of surprise (or scare) when instead of the pizza delivery person coming to knock…a fire truck pulls up with a team of fire-fighters on a mission to check if the batteries in your smoke alarms are working.
If they are working (and you haven’t died from fright) you get your pizza on the house.
If your smoke alarm doesn’t work? Well, you get new batteries (or a new alarm installed) to accompany the shame and terror you’ll likely experience from the cause.
“Every year, Domino’s stores look forward to partnering with their local fire departments and the NFPA to spread fire safety messages to their customers in an exciting and unexpected way,” said Jenny Fouracre, Domino’s spokeswoman. “This is the 15th year that Domino’s has brought the program to neighborhoods across the U.S.”

Consider this a public service announcement to make sure that your smoke alarms are in working condition if you plan on ordering from Domino’s during Fire Prevention Week…change the batteries if you have to or go out and get a new alarm entirely.
Not only will you be prepared should an emergency happen but you’ll also get that free pizza.
You don’t want to be caught in a whole ordeal where fire trucks are driving up to your house to check on batteries, and not get that free pizza for your troubles.
