Time Square, NYC – A violent incident outside a popular tourist destination in New York City has resulted in three individuals facing charges. According to law enforcement, a man was attacked in broad daylight by three men wielding a machete near the Times Square McDonald’s at the West 45th St. and Broadway location on May 30th.
The attack, which occurred around 1:00 pm, left the victim with stab wounds to both of his legs. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition.

Police located and apprehended the three suspects after they scattered following the assault. While the men’s names have not been released, authorities have confirmed that they are now facing charges related to the attack. The specific charges will likely depend on the severity of the victim’s injuries and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The victim is listed as being in stable condition.
The three suspects have been tied to a compact disc scam in which they sell bootleg CDs to unsuspecting tourists. Reports indicate a turf fight broke out among the street vendors and quickly turned violent resulting in the victim being stabbed with a machete in both of his legs.
This is not the first time the Times Square McDonald’s set the stage for an ax-wielding incident. In 2022, a dispute was caught on video when a fight erupted between one man and three others inside the restaurant. One of the men involved retrieved an ax from his backpack, and bashed up the inside of the McDonald’s with the weapon, pausing only to slap someone sitting at a table.
The NYPD will continue investigating the motive behind the latest attack, and release more information as it becomes available.
