Taco Bell is debuting a brand new item nationwide starting January 11th. It’s called the 3-Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt, and it’s a new version of the chains foray into flatbread melts in the past.

The chicken-based melt was tested in Dayton, Ohio this past June, and passed muster with a test market of consumers at select locations.

The melt is reported to be priced at around $2.29 but may vary depending on location.

The Triple Steak Stack launched in 2011

A press release described the melt as a soft flatbread containing grilled, marinated all-white chicken, creamy Chipotle sauce, and a three-cheese blend of cheddar, mozzarella, and Monterey jack pepper cheese.

A Mexican BBQ Flatbread Melt was also tested alongside the 3-Cheese Chicken Flatbread, and it’s absence from the announcement of a nationwide release leads to the conclusion that the BBQ-based melt wasn’t a hit in the test market.

This isn’t the first time that Taco Bell has added a flatbread melt to the menu, they’ve had a Bacon & Ranch Flatbread melt, and a Triple Steak Stack Melt introduced in 2011. The chain also had chicken flatbread melts on the menu for $.99 at one point.

Taco Bell also announced a line of frozen coffee and shake beverages currently being tested in two markets in California. The test subjects, are called the Churros Chillers, and Coffee Chillers. The Chillers are available in four flavors; Mexican Chocolate, Dulce de Leche Coffee, Wild Strawberry and Sweet Vanilla.
