The latest chains to debut new treats to usher in the fall season are, Auntie Anne’s and Basking Robbins.

Auntie Anne’s is going a salty and sweet route while Baskin Robbins will be sweet but spicy…or “Spicy and Spooky” as so appropriately named for Halloween.

Auntie Anne’s Sweet And Salty Beverage

The time-less mall pretzel staple, Auntie Anne’s is taking the combination of salty and sweet, and turning it up.

The frost beverage features a base layer of frozen Hershey’s chocolate with a sweet and salty caramel blend upon which rests a pillow-y dollop of whipped cream, capped off with drizzled salted caramel.

The Salted Caramel Chocolate Frost will be available starting October 1st.

The saltiness of the craveable caramel deliciously compliments the sweetness of the whipped cream and frozen chocolate for a new, can’t-miss combination,” a rep for the brand told Thrillist.

Auntie Anne’s had previously launched the Dragonfruit Mango Frost for the summer season. The pretzel chain has been working on getting in on a relatively new market for them – new and improved “premium” beverages.

Sounds like this one fits the bill.

We know our customers love both salty and sweet snacks, so we wanted to offer something that appeases both cravings,” Vice President of Marketing Cynthia Liu said in a news release. “

Baskin Robbins Spicy And Spooky

Though the new flavor of the month is Halloween-themed in name only, it definitely lives up to the “spicy” part of it’s name as it features a focus on two different avenues of heat.

The “spooky” delight has two ice cream flavors, and is a different foray into bold territory – it contains two kinds of chocolate…dark chocolate, and white chocolate ghost pepper flavored, with spicy blood orange flakes.

This one sounds perfect for anyone that likes a “kick”…especially in their desserts.

Baskin Robbin’s new spooky ice cream

“We’re excited to evoke the spookiness that comes with the season, using flavor elements we’ve never offered before in an ice cream, and we’re looking forward to guests’ reactions for those who are brave enough to try Spicy ‘n Spooky,” said Jeanne Bolger, director of research and development for Baskin-Robbins.

No matter if you lean towards sweet or spicy cravings – these two chains newest additions offer something new for customers to give a whirl.
