Hardee’s is bringing new handheld options to the menu, and adding the Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wraps. They will be available at locations nationwide for a limited-time only.
The Chicken Tender Wraps are available in three versions starting now after being tested in select locations over the past few months.
Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wrap Varieties
Ranch Tender Wrap: All-white meat chicken is dipped, and fried in buttermilk for a crispy outer breading layer, tucked inside a warm flour tortilla. Lettuce, cheese, and a buttermilk ranch sauce finish the wrap off.
Honey Mustard Tender Wrap: Like the Ranch Wrap, this wrap starts off with all-white meat chicken dipped, and fried in buttermilk with the same toppings except for the addition of a creamy honey mustard sauce.
Spicy Tender Wrap: The Spicy Wrap is a bit different from the other two in that it uses a special spicy blend of seasoning, has pickles, and mayonnaise. It uses the same all-white meat chicken, lettuce, and cheese.
The reported price on the wraps are $2.79 with a combo available served with fries, and a drink for $5.79.
Hardee’s announced the testing of Nashville Hot Tender Wraps while adding permanent Nashville Hot-based Chicken Sandwiches, Tenders, and Biscuit Sandwiches in September at locations in Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The testing phase must still be in full swing as there has been no update on the Nashville Hot Tender Wraps.
The chain has had Hand-Breaded Chicken Wraps in the past as far back as 2011. They offered Spicy, Honey Mustard, and BBQ originally.
Fast food chains have been leaning into the chicken market heavily over the course of the past few years. The popularity of chicken, has seen a resurgence since the Covid-era Popeye’s Chicken sandwich bonanza, and consequently, chains have been trying to match that historic demand with their own versions of chicken sandwiches, even venturing down other chicken-base avenues like, tenders, nuggets, and wraps.
McDonald’s even recently announced during an earnings call with investors, that they would be leaning more into chicken-based items. They further excited fans of the legendary Snack Wrap by mentioning it’s return in an updated, modern form…possible going by the name of the McCrispy Wrap. In the meeting they provided meager information, noting that the wraps could possibly be on the menu by 2025…
