This time it’s KFC turn to look back at past menus and bring back a retired favorite, and they’ve honed in on one that has had major fan demand to bring back. The apparently beloved, Twister Wrap.
The top fast food chains have been leaning heavily on the recent marketing scheme implementation of bringing back retired favorites to draw in old fans. KFC is only the latest chain to join in the fun.
It hasn’t been since 2014 that this particular item has enjoyed success as a staple on KFC’s menu.
The hand-held wraps were popular in their time, and still have a dedicated following.
Since their retirement, a large fan contingent has repeatedly voiced their displeasure over the years, discussing the Twister’s demise and demanding that they return.
Well the wraps are returning but with a different name and a slight “twist”. The “Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps” will be available in three different varieties.
“The fans asked, and we listened! Kentucky Fried Chicken® is shaking up its menus with the release of its new Kentucky Fried Chicken Wraps in select Atlanta restaurants for a limited time, starting today.”
Straight from the Colonel’s mouth:
- The Classic Chicken Wrap, a hand-breaded Extra Crispy™ Tender, crunchy pickles, and creamy mayo, wrapped up in a warm tortilla.
- The Mac & Cheese Chicken Wrap tops an Extra Crispy™ Tender with rich and gooey perfection—KFC’s cheddar mac & cheese and sprinkled with a three-cheese blend.
- The Spicy Slaw Chicken Wrap covers our Extra Crispy™ Tender in a flavorful mix of KFC coleslaw, spicy sauce and crispy pickles.
Unfortunately, they won’t be making the rounds nation-wide…at least not yet. The promotion is part of what they’re calling, the Twister Test Launch.
To kick off the return of the wraps, they will be available only in the Atlanta market for a trial period. You can check on their website to see which specific locations are participating.
