Hardees is joining in on the spicy chicken fast food competition by bringing a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich into the fold.
The Nashville Hot Chicken is available now and it comes in three different forms and has a bright orange appearance to let you in on the fact that it’s packing some heat.
Nashville Hot Chicken
The hand-breaded hot chicken is a spicy version of Hardees/Carl Jr.’s customary hand-breaded chicken.
The Nashville Hot differs in that it’s marinated, and fried in a cayenne pepper-based sauce.

Mallory Jones, Director of Brand Marketing for Hardee’s said in a statement revealing the new menu item:
“At Hardee’s, we’re all about offering the homestyle foods our guests crave. We’re expanding our famous chicken lineup with just the right amount of spice. The flavors speak for themselves. While there’s a nod to our Tennessee headquarters, we know guests across the country will love this new flavor.”
The best part is that it’s slated to be a permanent addition to the menu, not one of those limited-time only teases that disappear inside of a month.
The Chick-fil-A, Popeye’s, McDonald’s chicken sandwich wars have been in full swing over the past month or so with new chicken sandwiches hitting the deck, each chain trying to cater to an audience of chicken sandwich lovers and connoisseurs.
The difference with Hardee’s new sandwich is that it’s focusing on the heat, and it isn’t going anywhere. How it stacks up though? Well, we’re going to have to find out…
