Hardee’s is stepping up to the plate with a new featured item, Candied Bacon. After a period of testing in limited markets, the “candied” concept was given the greenlight to go nationwide at participating locations.
Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. tested several versions of the candied bacon line-up at locations in Bakersfield, California, Champaign-Springfield, Illinois and Dothan, Alabama in 2021. For now, only Hardee’s is moving forward with the candied menu.
Candied Bacon Menu
The Candied Bacon will be available in three forms:
- Candied Bacon (Snack Pack): The candied bacon can be enjoyed in snack form served in a handheld sleeve/container for a bacon-lovers snack, on-the-go.
- Candied Bacon Biscuit: The base of this sandwich uses a Made From Scratch biscuit that gets a fried egg, American Cheese, and then it’s topped with the smoked candied bacon.
- Candied Bacon Frisco Burger: A charbroiled angus beef patty topped with tomato, swiss cheese, and the star of the ensemble…four strips of candied bacon.
The bacon used to get that candied-taste is Applewood-smoked bacon which is doused in caramelized brown sugar and a smattering of black pepper.
Bacon as a standalone item will always be intriguing, Denny’s recognized that when they created the Baconalia Menu. The diner-esque chain built an entire promo around a side of bacon which they used in a publicity stunt involving a scavenger hunt and celebrities. The prize at the end of the rainbow? Free bacon.
Bacon lovers will appreciate the new bacon line-up while it’s here but there’s no word on how long it will be staying for…so be on your candied-covered toes.
