McDonald’s Canada has brought back something the United States has never had the opportunity to even try before, the Maple BBQ & Bacon Quarter Pounder.
The chain first introduced the Maple BBQ & Bacon Quarter Pounder in 2021, after it’s similar predecessor, the Western BBQ Quarter Pounder was retired in the same year. The Chipotle Bacon Quarter Pounder came out alongside the Maple & Bacon with the intention to offer more sophisticated burger flavor options but they only stick around for a limited time.
The Maple BBQ & Bacon Quarter Pounder features a 100% Canadian quarter-pound beef patty on a toasted sesame seed topped bun with cheddar cheese, hickory-smoked bacon, pickles, crispy onions and the star of the show…a creamy maple BBQ sauce.
Canadians were even given the chance to own Maple BBQ & Bacon modeled merchandise like a tracksuit, socks or a bucket hat.
Also back on the menu for a limited time are the Herb and Garlic seasoned fries made with thyme, garlic, sage and black pepper. These two recurring favorites will only be available for a short time, at participating locations.
Other international McDonalds creations that were recently unveiled include the Eggs Benedict Burger which came to McDonald’s Portugal arm. The breakfast sandwich capitalizes on the famous eggs Benedict dish and incorporates it into burger form adding Emmental Cheese, Spinach, a fried egg, and crispy onions.
