McDonald’s is adding to it’s breakfast menu in a big and different way. The chain is offering the Eggs Benedict Burger as part of the breakfast and brunch menu for a limited time.
There is one downside, it’s only being offered in Portugal for the time being under the name Maestro Eggs Benedict Burger.
A version of Eggs Benedict was previously tested in Taiwan in 2016 as part of the Big Breakfast Platter. It didn’t moved beyond the testing locations, that is, until now…
What is the Eggs Benedict Burger?
It starts with a toasted Brioche bun with poppy, and sesame seeds adorning it. Then it gets a beef patty piled with Emmental Cheese, Spinach, a fried egg, crispy onions, and for the creme de la creme? A smattering of Hollendaise Sauce to round it off.
McDonalds in the states doesn’t seem to put out a many new offerings choosing instead to focus on fancying old classics like the Grand McChicken Sandwich which is just a bigger version of the original McChicken with a name change to boot.
And adding or omitting bagel sandwiches with steak or everything bagel options. The burger chain could stand to take some notes from their international brethren by introducing new, varied items.
The last “new” additions were two dipping sauces, a Mango Sauce, and a Spicy Jam. Hopefully they have something new up their clown sleeves in the near future, or perhaps they’ll bring the Egg Benedict Burger to the United States.
