West Houston, TX – A Texas attorney, 46-year-old Jeffrey Limmer, was tragically shot and killed on May 4th at a McDonald’s on Interstate 10 in Houston. According to police reports, Limmer intervened in an altercation between an angry customer and restaurant staff. The suspect was apprehended the day after the incident and has been charged with murder.
The suspect, identified as 57-year-old Anthony Landry, reportedly became irate over a refund and argued with employees. Limmer, in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, intervened and that was when Landry turned his focus on him.
The dispute carried over into the parking lot where Landry allegedly retrieved a gun from his truck after pushing Limmer down in the parking lot. He fired at Limmer multiple times and fled the scene in a blue pickup truck.
Limmer was declared dead at the scene.

Landry, a 58-year-old with a long rap sheet including forgery, possession of crack cocaine, and evading detention – had a $10,000 bond for felony aggravated assault from an incident that occurred on February 17th, 2024. According to court records, he had struck a family member with a cane causing bodily injury.
Limmer’s family is grieving the loss of a man described as “kind-hearted and someone who wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for others”.
Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, told ABC 13:
“Knowing Jeff, he’s the one who always says, ‘Calm down. It’s not that big of a deal,’ and divert the situation. He’s always wanted to fight for the little guy and do the right thing.”
The McDonald’s location remains closed as the investigation continues. Houston police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
After his arrest on May 10th, Landry was denied bail and is currently being held in Harris County Jail.
