McDonald’s is releasing new adult Happy Meals that feature the throwback McNugget Buddies toys.
The chain has partnered with DJ, and creative director Kerwin Frost for a collaboration on the new Happy Meal boxes geared towards adults, and it’s called the Kerwin Frost Box.
The Meals will come with one McNugget Buddy toy. The toys originally came out in the 80’s, and lived through the 90’s, and this time around they’ve been given an updated look for 2023. According to a press release, the Buddies have mix and match outfits, and are designed with Frost’s childhood in mind, and he had a hand in their makeover as a result.

- One McNugget Buddy Toy
Frost said about the McNuggets Buddies: “I’ve loved McDonald’s since I was a kid. I even had my own Ronald McDonald doll that I brought to picture day at school, and it was my dream to collect all the McNugget Buddies. Now, coming up with my own special set of Buddies — each one representing different aspects of self-expression — it’s unreal, a dream come true.”

McDonald’s has been leaning into celebrity collaborations over the past few years. In 2022, they came out with the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box after the brand of the same name. Consumers went gaga over them and the included toys with them selling out shortly after their release.
Another interesting partnership came about last February when we saw The Cardi B & Offset Meal drop for Valentine’s Day.
