Multiple Pizza Hut locations located in New York state abruptly packed up, and left. Or rather, closed their doors and turned off the lights.

One of the surprise location closures notified customers with a sign on the door that said simply “Closed 4 Good”.

Pizza Hut confirmed the closures in a statement but didn’t give a reason behind the locations “closing for good”.

Reports indicate that at least seven locations were effected throughout the state. There’s no word on if this is a sign of what’s to come down the pipe-line for the pizza chain, or if the closures are just the cost of doing business.

In a statement provided by Pizza Hut, they were stalwart on positive growth for their business: “While we can confirm these particular locations have closed, the Pizza Hut, brand is experiencing growth, including in New York, and remains committed to providing outstanding service and products to our valued customers across the country,” they added.

In 2020, the franchisee, NPC International which owned 1225 Pizza Hut locations, shut-down over 300 locations leading to alarm for the future of the pizza chain. The owner filed for bankruptcy so they could “restructure”.

Burger King made a similar move this past spring when they closed over 300 restaurants leading many to believe it was a sign of the end of times.

A spokesperson for Burger King indicated that, every year, they do a little “spring-cleaning” by closing numerous locations.

Burger King representatives insisted the closures were part of normal business operations.

As with all things of this nature, we’ll just have to take a wait and see approach.
