Taco Bell, is making moves, expanding its offerings with a new beverage-focused cafe concept. The Live Más Café, located in San Diego, California, features a menu centered around innovative drinks, including milkshakes, coffees, fruity iced beverages, and even a take on the popular “dirty soda” trend, featuring its signature Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
This move by Taco Bell aims to tap into the growing demand for specialty beverages and compete with established coffee chains like Starbucks and Dunkin’. R.J. Hottovy, head of analytical research at Placer.ai, believes that this strategy could attract younger consumers to the cafe, allowing Taco Bell to expand its customer base and diversify its brand image.
The chain hopes to appeal to a younger crow with drinks like milkshakes, coffees, and a new and improved Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
R.J. Hottovy, head of analytical research at Placer.ai. told CNN:
“Taco Bell, like a lot of quick-service restaurant brands, recognizes the large opportunity in beverages. Beverage chains have been among the fastest-growing chains in the restaurant industry from a visitation standpoint the past two years.”
The Live Más Café offers a variety of unique beverages, such as:
- Chillers: Frozen coffee and shake blends
- Agua Refrescas: Green tea-based drinks infused with fruit
- Cold brew coffee options in partnership with Beekeeper
The cafe’s debut coincides with Taco Bell’s upcoming Live Más LIVE event on January 28, 2025, at the Hollywood Palladium, where the company is expected to unveil more details about its beverage strategy and future plans.
This move calls to mind McDonald’s spinoff restaurant, CosMc’s which launched last December in Chicago. And like, Taco Bell, McDonald’s opened it to focus on serving coffee, and beverages.
