The Shaquille O’Neill inspired pizza, Shaq-A-Roni, is hitting Papa John’s menu for a limited-return run. The pepperoni-laden pizza is an extra-large pie named after the legendary basketball player, and the chain’s board member.
Shaq, long-time partner, board member, and franchisee of Papa John’s collaborated to introduce the Shaq-A-Roni for the first time in 2020. The extra-large pizza is a slam dunk with extra pepperoni, and extra cheese.
“Customers love the Shaq-a-Roni because of its size and value – extra cheese and extra-large slices – and it gives customers a chance to give back in a big way,” said Shaquille O’Neal.
Shaq, quite the entrepreneur started a new chain called Big Chicken which has been expanding across the US to rave reviews. He started the chain in 2018, with expansion occurring at a rapid rate.
Papa John’s will donate one dollar for every Shaq-A-Roni sold.
Shaq continued:
“In the last three years, the Shaq-a-Roni pizza has raised more than $6 million for The Papa John’s Foundation which gives to local organizations – that’s an impactful footprint we wanted to highlight this year and give the fans a chance to get involved.”
