KFC is taking notes, and hopping on the “bring back” train that many franchises have been riding on in recent times. The latest discontinued favorite to see a second wind is the – KFC Twister Wrap, back on the menu, February 6th, in a nationwide rollout…but under a new name.

The KFC Twister Wrap ran from it’s introduction in 1997 to 2014; on and off the menu over the years.

When The Powers That Be pulled the plug for good, fans of the wrap were not happy campers. In fact, there’s even a petition on Change.org with over 2,200 signature petitioning for the franchise to bring the wrap back.

The petition noted that: “For no reason that anyone can find or has had explained, KFC discontinued the Twister wrap in the USA years ago“.

Variations of the wrap could be found in countries outside of the USA, and throughout the years, in some offerings on the menu that vaguely resembled the Twister.

Whispers on the fast food grape vine started pointing to the Twister’s return in the Fall, and the wrap was even being tested in the Atlanta market with successful results.

Now, sources have confirmed it. The Twister is back and it’s rebranded with a new name: The Kentucky Fried Chicken Wrap.

The press release states that they’re part of a 2 for $5 deal as well as a $7.99 combo option that consists of two wraps, a medium drink and Secret Recipe Fries.

Wraps fans have been begging for fried chicken wraps to return, and we’re answering the call with our new finger lickin’ good KFC Wraps,” said Nick Chavez, CMO, KFC U.S. “Two KFC Wraps for $5 is a steal.

The two options available to munch on are:

The Classic Chicken Wrap with Extra Crispy fried chicken, pickles and mayo.

The Spicy Slaw Chicken Wrap with Extra Crispy fried chicken, pickles, cole slaw, and a spicy sauce.

Whether you’re into an original or spicy take, both options look incredibly scrumptious.

Although the wraps are back, and with only a few small differences from the original, it won’t be forever as they’re slated to be on the menu for a limited time.

So you might want to twist your way to KFC to get your wrap fix before they disappear once more.
