Starting January 5th, McDonald’s Japan is adding three king-sized burgers to coincide with the release of Godzilla Minus One.
In Japan, the new Godzilla movie has been in theaters since October with a black and white version slated to come out in January, and yet another movie called Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire…in April. McDonald’s has teamed up to usher in the new movies by debuting Godzilla-themed burgers.
The Godzilla Burger come in three different versions; chicken, beef, and pork. The buns are unique in that they’re fashioned to look similar to Godzilla’s scales, another tie-in to the fictitious beast.

The 3 versions are each a creation unto their own with a different meat starring in each sandwich.
- Delicious Spicy Thick-Cut Beef and Rough-Chopped Potato: Features two kind of patties, beef and potato, a spicy mayo sauce, and cheddar cheese on a sesame seed dotted bun.
- Smokey Pepper Chicken: This one has a fried chicken cutlet with thick-cut bacon, cheese, crisp sliced onion, and smoky mustard.
- Cheese Double Teriyaki: The Teriyaki version has two pork patties smothered in teriyaki sauce with cheese and lettuce and cheese piled on top.
For the month of December, Burger King released the mighty T.O.P Burger (The One Pounder). The burger is one of 5 burgers introduced by Burger King Japan. The last being a celebration burger for New Years.
The competition is heating up between Burger King and McDonald’s Japan in the monstrous burger department. It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with next…
