In a drool-worthy memo obtained and leaked by a user on Reddit, Wendy’s is rolling out three new menu additions supposedly dropping on, November 15th (via: yahoonews.com).
Although this news is not confirmed, the memo looks about official as it can get.
The memo states that the three items have already passed preliminary tests with consumers in the Columbus, Ohio market in early 2022, and that the results say customers were smitten.
One of the new creations is a sandwich not typical of the standard fare that Wendy’s has put out in the past as it has an Italian classic slant.
They’re calling the first (and second) addition the ‘Italian Mozzarella Sandwich’ and it features a saucy element. It brings to mind Burger King’s occasional guest star, the Italian Chicken. However, the Wendy’s version will also enable the Italian elements to be available as a burger.
As per the leaked memo, the Italian Mozzarella Chicken and Cheeseburger “provides all of the familiar flavors of an Italian dinner in a delicious sandwich.”
The mainstays for both ‘sandwiches’ (chicken and burger version) boast a garlic knot bun, fried mozzarella cheese, and ‘rich’ marinara sauce.
The rundown of the sandwich sounds like it could out perform Burger King’s version by far, possibly putting it to shame from the sound of it.
If anyone remembers, Burger King’s “Italian chicken” – occasionally the sandwich would degenerate in quality as it would be assembled using little chicken tenders instead of the standard chicken cutlet.
And finally, the third and final item to be added to the ‘Made To Crave” menu would be, garlic fries.
They say that the fries would “serve as the perfect complement” to the Italian Mozzarella Sandwich. And the memo notes that the price point on these new flavored fries would be a few dollars higher than that of their regular fries.
While most of the comments from Reddit were excited over the prospect, one user who works at Wendy’s…isn’t too enthralled:
It’s worth noting that the “Hot Honey Sandwich” will be leaving Wendy’s menu to make way for the new Italian sandwich.
It won’t be long until we find out if the leaked menu is legit or not…but if this isn’t a rumor and these new items come to pass…Wendy’s will definitely be making us an offer we can’t refuse.
