Fast-food giant Wendy’s is making waves in the burger industry with their latest menu innovation. In a surprising move, the chain has announced the upcoming release of their “Krabby Patty Burger,” a playful nod to the famous Krabby Patty from the beloved cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants.
The surprising and delightful news hit on the Wendy’s subreddit where an employee shared information on the Krabby Patty inspired burger straight from corporate.
Set to hit select Wendy’s locations starting October 8th. The Spongebob universe burger will be a premium cheeseburger topped with “fresh produce, a secret Krabby Patty sauce.”
The flyer also notes a Pineapple Under The Sea Frosty (swirled with a Pineapple Mango puree) and Hot & Crispy Medium Fries.
It looks like this limited-time offering will be collaborating in conjunction with Paramount complete with the handing out of limited-edition stickers.
While some fast-food purists may raise an eyebrow at this cartoon-inspired creation, Wendy’s may be banking on the nostalgia factor and the curiosity of SpongeBob fans to drive sales of this unique menu item.
