Wendy’s Frosty, the classic American treat, has been a menu staple for over 50 years. But as we know, Wendy’s also likes to keep things interesting with the occasional flavor twist. Now, they’re been teasing fans with an all-new sweet and spicy Mango Frosty offering, but there’s a catch.

The new Frosty flavor is a twist on the classic vanilla Frosty, not a completely new recipe. According to a social media posts by food blogger Snackolator, it features a vanilla Frosty base topped with a sweet mango syrup, then dusted with Tajin seasoning. Tajin is a popular Mexican condiment with a lime and chili pepper base, and used in this setting, it will add a bit of a kick to the Frosty as we know it.

Will The Mango Frosty Make It’s Way North?

The catch is that, or for now, this sweet and spicy Frosty option is exclusively testing in the Bahamas. Snackolator’s post showcases the treat, but there’s no word on if or when it might make its way to the U.S. market.

Wendy’s added the new Dreamsicle Frosty to the menu to the US menu just as Spring’s welcome presence started popping up. It’s also a tailored after the Dreamsicle ice cream bar of yore. So you know we’re dealing with a delightful treat.

A few other items have also been testing in the Bahamas as of late (within the past month or so) with the one being the Philly Cheese by Burger King. And to boot, we recently got word that the testing cheesesteak will be making it’s way to the US sometime in the near future.

The customer response on the sweet & spicy Frosty has been mixed, with fans either wanting to try the unique flavor combination or wanting to leave it in the Bahamas. But comments like “need this immediately” and “omg this is genius” shows there’s an appetite for a sweet and spicy Frosty stateside.

Will Wendy’s decide to bring this sunshine-inspired Frosty due north? In the meantime, you could try recreating it at home with a vanilla ice cream base, mango puree, and a sprinkle of Tajin seasoning. It just might be crazy enough to work!
